1 Services

Filters For You (operated by Tapped Out Pty Ltd, ABN 81 672 101 674, Plumbing Licence 461511C) supplies and installs water filtration systems for residential and commercial properties within approximately 25km of Sydney CBD.

All installations are subject to a site suitability assessment. We reserve the right to decline work where site conditions make safe or compliant installation impractical.

2 Fixed Price Packages

Our published prices apply to standard installations only. Additional costs may apply for:

  • Cabinetry modifications or carpentry work
  • Additional plumbing runs beyond standard scope
  • Electrical work required for system power
  • Restricted or difficult access conditions
  • Non-standard fittings, thread types, or connections
  • Non-compliant existing plumbing that must be rectified before installation

Any variation to the fixed price will always be discussed and approved by you before any additional work is carried out. No surprises.

3 Site Suitability

The customer is responsible for ensuring:

  • Adequate cabinet space or installation area is available
  • Cabinet or mounting structure is in sound condition
  • Reasonable access to plumbing connections is available
  • Power supply is available where required (RO systems with UV or smart monitoring)

If an installation cannot proceed due to site conditions that were not disclosed at the time of booking, a call-out fee may apply. We will always contact you prior to booking to confirm suitability where possible.

4 Call-Out Fees

A call-out fee of $280 applies for inspection or quotation visits. This fee is waived in full if the installation proceeds on the same visit or is rescheduled and completed within a reasonable timeframe.

Cancellations within 24 hours of a confirmed booking may incur a cancellation fee to cover time and travel costs.

5 Payment

Full payment is required prior to or on completion of the installation. We accept bank transfer, card payment, and approved finance options where available.

Failure to pay may result in the pursuit of outstanding amounts through debt recovery processes, including any associated costs.

6 Lifetime Warranty

Filters For You provides a Lifetime Warranty on the sealed system components of every water filtration and reverse osmosis system we install, backed by an annual professional service plan. This warranty is provided in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (see Section 9), and nothing in this warranty limits or excludes any guarantee or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded. The full terms are set out below. A plain-English overview is available on our Lifetime Warranty page.

In short: if the system itself ever fails — a crack, leak or fault in the housing or manifold — we replace it and do all the labour, free, for life. The wear parts around it are covered free for the first 2 years, then looked after at a fair, fixed price. This stays in place while you remain on your annual service plan, the system was installed by us, and it hasn't been moved or worked on by anyone but us.

6.1 Who this warranty covers. The warranty is issued to the original client named on the installation invoice, for one system, at the one property where we installed it. It is personal and non-transferable — it does not pass to a new owner or tenant if the property is sold or leased, and it does not follow the client to a new address. If you sell or vacate the property, the warranty ends for you at that address.

6.2 What makes the warranty valid. All of the following must be true for the Lifetime Warranty to apply and remain in force:

  • The system was purchased as part of a Filters For You installation package and installed by us. Systems bought elsewhere and installed by us, and DIY self-install kits, are not covered by this Lifetime Warranty (see Section 6.11).
  • The client is enrolled in and current on a Filters For You annual service plan, with a professional service completed by us every 12 months and plan fees paid and up to date.
  • The system remains at its original installation address and has not been relocated (see Section 6.7).
  • The system has not been opened, modified or worked on by anyone other than Filters For You (see Section 6.6).

6.3 Grace period for the annual service. Clients have 30 days from the scheduled service due date to complete their annual service. Complete it within that window and cover continues unbroken. If 30 days pass with no service completed, the client is treated as having left the plan and the Lifetime Warranty is voided from the original due date. We remind clients ahead of their due date, but booking and completing the service on time is the client's responsibility.

6.4 What is covered — three tiers.

  • Lifetime, free — the sealed system and its labour. The housings, RO membrane housing, centre joiner, and the Quick Change manifold and smart internals (Advanced and Luxe systems). If any of these fails through a manufacturing fault or normal wear under normal operating conditions, we replace the part and perform all labour — isolating, draining, disconnecting, refitting and pressure-testing — at no cost, for as long as the client remains eligible. The Advanced mechanical manifold is covered under this tier with no time limit and no client contribution.
  • Luxe electronics — a special rule. The Pure Luxe smart electronic components (live monitoring, sensors and display) are fully covered for the first 5 years. After year 5, if the electronics fail, we replace the entire system and perform the install labour free, and the client pays 50% of a new system as a fixed $600 contribution.
  • Two years, free — the valves. The pressure limiting valve, inline check valve, 4-way RO shut-off valve, feedwater/inlet valve and filter tap mechanism are covered free for 2 years from the installation date, backed by our supplier's own manufacturer warranty. After 2 years these move to the fixed price sheet below.
  • Fixed low price, after 2 years — the wear parts. Once the 2-year valve cover ends, or for wear components never covered above, we replace them at a fixed, published, low price (for example: pressure limiting valve $80, check valve $55, tap $170, storage tank $240). This is a transparent service, not a warranty claim. Replacements made during a scheduled annual service carry no call-out fee; a standalone call-out just to replace a wear part carries a $60 call-out fee. A genuine Lifetime Warranty claim (Section 6.4, first tier) is always attended free, including standalone visits.

6.5 What is never covered. Regardless of eligibility, the following are not covered under the Lifetime Warranty at any tier:

  • Filter cartridges and consumables — these are replaced annually as part of the paid service plan, not as a warranty item
  • Cosmetic wear that does not affect function (scuffs, discolouration, fading)
  • Damage from causes outside our control — water hammer or mains pressure surges, frost, fire, flood, storm, rodent or pest damage, or damage caused by other trades or building works
  • Damage from unauthorised work (see Section 6.6)
  • Water quality issues caused by the property's own plumbing or incoming mains supply, unrelated to the installed system
  • Consequential damage the client chose not to prevent after being notified (see Section 6.8)
  • Any part not listed as Lifetime or 2-Year covered in Section 6.4

6.6 Unauthorised tampering or repair voids the entire warranty. If anyone other than Filters For You opens, modifies, services or attempts to repair the system — including the client, a handyman, or another plumber — the Lifetime Warranty is voided in full and permanently, from the date that work occurred, even if it was unrelated to the part that later fails.

6.7 Relocation or transport voids cover for that system. The warranty is valid only at the original installation address. If the system is removed, transported or reinstalled anywhere other than by Filters For You at that address, the Lifetime Warranty ends permanently for that unit, even if the service plan is otherwise current. If you need a system relocated — for a renovation, or to move a fridge or sink within the same property — Filters For You must perform the relocation for the warranty to continue. Contact us before any system is disconnected.

6.8 Declining a recommended repair. If we flag an issue at a service and the client declines the recommended repair, the warranty does not extend to any further or consequential damage that results from that declined repair. This affects only the specific consequential claim; it does not cancel the client's broader warranty or service-plan standing.

6.9 Leaving the service plan voids the warranty permanently. If a client cancels the service plan, or lets it lapse beyond the 30-day grace period in Section 6.3, the Lifetime Warranty ends permanently on that system from the date of lapse. There is no reinstatement. Rejoining the plan, paying a back-fee or booking a fresh inspection later does not restore Lifetime Warranty cover — a new inspection at that point is a paid service call, not a warranty reinstatement. The Lifetime Warranty is sustainable only because it is funded by clients who stay on the plan, which is why this condition is strict.

6.10 Change of ownership. Because the warranty is non-transferable (Section 6.1), a new owner or tenant at the same address has no claim under the original client's warranty, even if the system is untouched. A new occupant would need to arrange their own service agreement with us, and any warranty on the existing hardware would be assessed fresh at that time rather than automatically granted.

6.11 DIY self-install packages. Systems bought as a DIY or self-install kit with no Filters For You installation labour do not carry this Lifetime Warranty. They are covered only by the underlying manufacturer's standard product warranty, where applicable.

6.12 How to make a claim. Contact us by phone or email describing the issue, with photos where possible. We confirm eligibility — that the service plan is current, the system is at the original address, and the failure is a covered component rather than an excluded cause. If eligible, we schedule a visit and complete the covered repair and all labour at no charge. If the fault falls under the fixed price sheet or a non-covered cause, we quote it plainly first, and no charged work proceeds without your approval. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (Section 9) are unaffected by this process.

7 Maintenance Responsibility

The customer is responsible for ongoing maintenance of their filtration system, including the regular replacement of filter cartridges in accordance with the maintenance schedule provided at installation.

Failure to replace cartridges as required may void manufacturer warranties and lead to reduced system performance. We supply all replacement cartridges and recommend enrolling in a service plan for ongoing support.

8 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Filters For You is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from or in connection with our services.

Our total liability to you in any circumstances is limited to the cost of the product or service provided.

9 Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, warranty, or other term or condition, implied or imposed by the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) (including the Australian Consumer Law) which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

10 Access and Safety

The customer must provide our technician with safe and reasonable access to the installation area. Filters For You reserves the right to refuse or pause work if conditions are deemed unsafe or do not meet workplace health and safety requirements.

11 Website Use
